An improvised prelude (known as Taqsim throughout the oriental world) on the Middle Eastern lute Ud. It introduce the mood of the piece that follows (in this case "The Sultan's suite") and it is also usually danced in a free, non rhythmic form (known also as Taqsim) as part of a belly dance recital.
