A tender song with a message, based on 3 different ragas (Indian musical modes) , that is unique in the sense that it never repeats itself except for the first and last verse, but always evolves through new melodic and rhythmic patterns including an unusual passage in 5 beats. The singularity of the song is accentuate but the instruments used, the Indian classical lute Surbahar, the Iranian zyther Santur and the Indian Tabla.

A VISION

Light has pierced through in between the clouds,
The winds have died down and shutters are lifted.
The light blows a hole in the walls of my heart,
It melts down the frozen cup of my tears.

A new vision is showing itself to us ,
With brilliance and crystal clarity,
The brilliance of lightning and dark starry nights,
As clear as the rhythms of death and life.

If it’s hardship you want that is what you will have,
If it’s freedom and joy, fortune favours the brave.
The lake is so cold but the jump is refreshing,
If you swim or you drown, it is just speculating.

The kindergarden of Eden is coming through,
With the spirits of children that are stirring the brew.
We don’t know what will come forth, we don’t know who will play,
When a child is born he can show you the way.

You can sing to your goddess, you can wake up the snake,
You can drop of the old bag , you are light and awake.
You define your own life and can imagine your fate,
It’s a joke someone is playing just to tickle your face.

So no more expectations, never mind what they say,
It’s a game that’s becoming more fun in each day.
And you know the old rules but they’re becoming outdated,
With the new ones unknown and with traditions defeated.

The turning of fortune is like tossing a coin.
Whatever side’s up it will shortly be down.
If it’s heads it’s beginning and if it’s tails it’s the end,
It’s the message the joker’s trying to send.
